Nike's 2012 Galaxy Collection

Nike's 2012 Galaxy Collection

Year after year, the NBA’s All-Star weekend exhilarates basketball fans around the world -- and how could it not? Between the dunk contest, three-point contest, and, of course, the all-star game itself, the weekend almost never disappoints.

But for some of us, none of the aforementioned events are even the best part. For some of us, the best part has less to do with the events themselves, and more to do with the sneakers the players wear. After all, brands such as Nike, Adidas and Jordan tend to step their game up for all-star weekend, often dropping some of their most eye-catching collections.

With the NBA’s 2020 all-star game fast approaching, it’s only right that we throw things back to 2012 and take a look at perhaps the best sneaker collection the all-star weekend has ever seen. The collection was none other than Nike’s “galaxy” renditions of the Kobe 7, LeBron 9 and KD 4.

Not only were the shoes awe-inspiring at the time (and even to this day), but also they birthed a craze of “galaxy” themed custom shoes that we still see today. Take a look at the collection below and tell us, which of the three sneakers is your favorite and why?
